Should You Consider Smartlipo?

Do you usually eat nutrient-dense foods instead of calorie-dense foods? Do you make a conscious effort to exercise for at least 3.5 hours a week? Are you at or near your ideal weight but unable to budge stubborn pockets of fat? At Lively Wellness and Aesthetics in Odessa, TX, we proudly offer Smartlipo for people just like you. Read on to learn more.

When to Consider Smartlipo

You Are at Your Ideal Weight

If you are at your ideal weight, you should consider Smartlipo. If you don’t need to lose any more weight to be healthy, then you shouldn’t try to lose weight just to reduce excess fat pockets. We can help. You’ll lose a little weight after treatment, but not enough to push you to an unhealthily low weight.

It’s important that you understand this isn’t a weight-loss treatment. It is a fat removal treatment. The two most significant changes you will notice after treatment are a reduction in volume and circumference in the treated area and tighter skin in the treated area.

You Are Near Your Ideal Weight

Not everyone with small pockets of excess fat is at his or her ideal weight. We accept clients who are up to 30 pounds from their goal weight. You should consider this treatment if you are within 30 pounds of your goal weight. However, there are a couple of caveats we will address in a minute.

You should especially consider this treatment right now if you are within 10 pounds of your goal weight. This is because people who are within 10 pounds of their goal weight are at nearly no risk of loose or excess skin.

Your Skin Is Fairly Elastic

You should consider this treatment if your skin is fairly elastic. This is confusing to many people. After all, isn’t it FDA-approved to tighten the treated skin? Well, it is. However, it can only do so much. It’s not designed specifically to be a skin tightening treatment.

If your skin is extremely lax or you have excess skin, you should strongly consider improving the elasticity and overall health of your skin before you consider this treatment. To tell if your skin is elastic, pull it away from your body. If it snaps back into place quickly, it is elastic. If it takes several seconds to snap back into place, it is inelastic.

You Are Confident You Can Maintain Your Current Weight

You should strongly consider Smartipo if you are confident you can maintain your current weight. The more you cycle between weight loss and weight gain, the weaker your skin becomes. This makes your skin far more likely to be inelastic. Therefore, if you gain and lose 10 pounds after your treatment, you may end up with loose skin.

Moreover, there is no way to tell where your body will gain or lose weight. You may gain weight in your treated area. After all, between 80 and 84% of the localized fat cells you started with remain after your first treatment session. As importantly, you never know where your body will lose weight from.

You Eat Healthy Foods Most of the Time

You should consider this treatment if you eat healthy foods most of the time. While exercise is great for your health and your waistline, you can’t outrun a bad mouth. In other words, it doesn’t matter how many hours a day you dedicate to exercise: it is impossible to exercise enough to make up for a poor diet.

If you achieved weight loss via crash dieting, there is a very good chance that you will regain the weight you lost. If you have a poor handle on your diet, consider this treatment after speaking to a licensed nutritionist who can help you with a meal plan you can maintain for life.

You Exercise Regularly

As you age, your metabolism slows significantly. This is due to several factors. The most important thing you need to know is you don’t need to change your diet to maintain your ideal weight. Rather, you can build healthy exercise habits now. This facilitates the building of crucial muscle mass that keeps your metabolism running strong.

You Are Neither Pregnant nor Nursing

Your health and safety are two of our top priorities. The FDA has not tested the safety or efficacy of this treatment in women who are pregnant or nursing. Therefore, you should only consider this treatment if you are neither pregnant nor nursing.

You Are Done Having Children

You should strongly consider this treatment if you think you’re done having children. There is no risk to you or your future fetus if you get pregnant after treatment. However, most pregnancies result in fat gain. If you gain weight during your pregnancy and subsequently lose some or all of your “baby weight,” you may need a maintenance treatment.
