How Does PRP Treatment Work?

PRP has proven to be a safe and effective treatment that is able to rejuvenate the body in a number of different ways. Unlike other beauty treatments out there, PRP is completely all-natural. It relies only on the power of your blood in order to prompt natural healing. That means that PRP doesn’t use and pharmaceutical chemicals or synthetic substances. There is no chance of any allergic with PRP, either. PRP is also an outpatient treatment that normally takes no longer than one hour. And there is no downtime associated with PRP treatment, although it is used in conjunction with treatments like microneedling, laser peels, and fractional rejuvenation that may require some downtime.

How Does PRP Work?

PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma, which is one component of your blood. PRP is rich with white bloods cells as well as mighty proteins called growth factors. These proteins are responsible for repairing damaged tissue and regenerating new tissue. They are the key to healing the body.

For the PRP treatment, we will need a small amount of your blood, which we will obtain through a routine, medical blood draw. Your blood will then be placed inside of a centrifuge that is capable of separating your PRP from the other components of your blood. Once separated, we will create a serum of PRP that can be injected into different areas of your body, depending on what treatment you are getting.

PRP for Facial Rejuvenation

One use for PRP is facial rejuvenation. A PRP treatment has been proven to help reduce and eliminate many of the different signs of aging. For one, PRP can target all those fine lines and wrinkles that have appeared on your skin. The way PRP does this is through prompting your body to begin producing collagen. As we age, your bodies slow down the production of collagen, which is what leads to wrinkled, sagging skin. PRP can also firm your skin, revitalizing your facial tissue so that your skin is firmer and tighter.

PRP can be used to target other skin conditions as well. PRP helps to reduce the look of scars caused by acne breakouts by healing the tissue and creating more collagen that smooth out the scar. PRP also can help treat age spots and areas of hyperpigmentation.

PRP is a treatment that has a wide range of benefits. We also use PRP in our Vampire Breast Lift® procedure. As an all-natural treatment, your body and skin will be rejuvenated through the power of your blood.
